Aldrin

The largest population centre on Luna is Aldrin, a city in the Mare Tranquillitatis that is home to almost a million people. Aldrin is the centre of the Aldrin People's Corporate Republic, a quasinational polity that exerts control over Tranquillitatis and much of Foecunditatis. The city declared independence from Earth as the Lunar Republic in the late 21st century (an action that inspired the bloody Hellas Revolt on Mars); such independence seems largely irrelevant today.
